First of all, I loved the slick packaging. The texture of the material used was like "velvet" or "matte". And the black is very elegant which comes with the "Crown" (Rimmel London Logo) on top. It spells "ROYALTY".

The finish is not completely "matte" but the pigmentation is awesome! It moisturizes and slides well. It is not sticky at all. You will love wearing them everyday. No need to worry about chapped lips because it has enough moisture for healthy lips. Also the pigment lasts long thus the "Lasting Finish".

Here is my skin swatch. The color fits well with my skin-tone. I'm loving plum lippies lately!!! I think I'm in love. ;)

I just went for the simple look since I'll just be watching a Dance Competition (SMART Jump In Dance Off) and I have Rimmel London's amazing pigment on my lips. I don't want anything to compete with its amazing color!

I really loved the shade and the fact that it lasts longer than expected was absolutely amazing. I would love to have all the other shades of Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss.

SM Beauty Box

Great news! Another Beauty Box is coming in town this August 1, 2013! And this one comes not through "subscriptions" like all the other beauty boxes but through a retail store, SM (c/o Watsons).

Yes! SM has developed their very own beauty box which will be available starting on August 1, 2013. I don't know how this one works but one thing is for sure, you are not required to "subscribe". You just need to go to any SM Department Store Beauty Section (SM Makati, SM Megamall, SM Mall Of Asia, and SM North Edsa) and the box can be bought only for Php 700.

They have given sample of the boxes to well-known beauty bloggers. I don't know if it's going to be a "surprise" box like other beauty boxes, but for August, the box has been already revealed. Well, we are about to find out if their going to continue revealing the box first before having it available for purchase or will it be a surprise.

In my opinion I enjoy the "mystery" about unboxing surprise beauty boxes. It's like a box of chocolate for any beauty junkie, you'll never know what's inside until you open it. I think that makes the "beauty box" trendy and it just got every body hooked.

Well, let's give this box a chance. It is said that the SM Beauty Box has products worth Php 4000. That's a LOT! But because of the early "unboxing" by other bloggers, you can already check if you want to buy it or not. So I'm still digging the "mystery"-factor. Get it?

"Sea Escape"

FOTD: "Sea Escape" E.L.F. Flawless Eyeshadow

Awesome Weekend!

I had a great time shooting products for my reviews and yesterday I decided to use some of them. And this look highlights E.L.F.'s Flawless Eyeshadow in Sea Escape. Though I also used some of my favorite items to complete the look.

How to Get The Look:

Basically I used 11 products for this look.

FACE. After I washed my face and applied toner & sunblock, I used The Body Shop - Vitamin E Cool BB Cream. It has only one shade that is good for light to medium toned skin. I used it as a base since it has more moisture than coverage. But it does prep my skin very well... thus the Vitamin E.
I used Mary Kay Timewise Matte Foundation in Beige 2 to hide my blemish scars. I needed to put on foundation for additional coverage since I'll be out for almost the whole day. I also used matte since I have combination - oily skin.
To prep my eyes, I used E.L.F. Eye Primer.
To contour my face I used E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzer in St. Lucia but I only used the bronzer for countouring.
EYEBROWS. For my brows, I first drew the shape of my brows using NYX Eyebrow Marker in Deep. (See Review Here)
Then to fill my brows, I used Le Faerie Cosmetics Eyebrow Palette.
CHEEKS. For my cheeks, I always wanted a natural blush so I used my all-time favorite The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Tint. I set my blush with E.L.F. Contouring Blush by slightly patting it on (this time I used the Blush).
LIPS. I swiped a bit of The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Tint on my lips and finished it off with Maybelline Color Sensational in 235 Warm Me Up. I chose this for a natural / kinda nude lips for a very strong eyeshadow.
EYES. Refer to Photo below. After allowing the primer to dry, I first used the BASE color which has shimmer. I also applied it upto my lower brow area. Then I added on the LID color on my lids by just patting on the eyeshadow powder. It has a matte finish so it really lifts up the "sea blue" color. I then applied CREASE on my crease then LINE near my lash line.
I lined my eyes with 4U2 Tempting Eyes ENVY in Black.
Then finished the whole look by curling my lashes then applying L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Waterproof Mascara.

And there you go! ;) Hope you liked that one! I know I was not able to show photos of step-by-step procedure since this was one of those "spontaneous" posts. I'll try to give you a more detailed "TUTORIAL" next time. ;) -- I'll surely work on that, with a video perhaps? What do you think?

E.L.F. Flawless Eyeshadow
Review

Hello! How was your week so far? I would like to share to you my current loot from e.l.f. (eyes.lips.face.) I guess these two are both from e.l.f.'sFall 2012 Collection. The Flawless Eyeshadow.

Two of the awesome items from the loot are the Flawless Eyeshadow in Party Purple and Sea Escape. As you can see, they are great shades. I can't wait to try them out.

The packaging is really good. They have sponge applicators which I seldom use. I always use brushes but there's something about the texture of these palettes that make them very difficult for brushes. That's a bummer. So I'll go ahead and use the sponge for swatches.

Party Purple

Party Purple is a mix of purple and pink shades. It is a Quad Palette with 4 shades that tells you where to put them. But you can still use them any way you want, which I will also do. Some where also quite a bit more "shimmery" than the others.

For this palette though, there's not much "matte" shades. I think LINE is a little matte than the others. But what I'm really disappointed is the pigmentation. The darker colors have less pigmentation. The lighter ones like the BASE are a little pigmented but not much.

Hand Swatch for Party Purple

I tried dipping my hands over the colors and still I'm not quite "amazed". The LID is a nice shade of Old Rose, but it really lacks pigmentation. Also the CREASE has too much "shimmer" I suppose. Not a very powerful palette for me.

Arm Swatch for Party Purple

I tried it in my arm with NO PRIMER at all. I was shocked. I can't seem to really make a strong shade out of this palette! I don't know if my skin is the problem, or is it really the palette? I used the sponge for application which I think is best if I used my hand instead! If the sponge gave terrible pigmentation, the brush did worst! There's so many fall-outs that I really, really, really, hate. The CREASE and LID falls out more for this palette.

For better results, PLEASE do use a primer.

Sea Escape

Sea Escape is a quad of "sea" colors. Two of them are matte (LID and LINE) while the BASE and CREASE is sheer.

I have tried it again on my hand to see the consistency and pigmentation of the colors. I think if I use my fingers to apply them, it would be as pigmented as this. I hope so. Because when I use their sponge applicator or brush, it's just not working as expected.

Hand Swatch for Sea Escape.

As you can see, the CREASE and LINE has very much little pigmentation on both hands and arm. For the CREASE there's too much "glitter" and fall-outs. Same as the BASE. The color is not as STRONG as it should be. But when the BASE and LID is mixed together, the "matte" finish of the LID pops up the color for quite a bit.

Arm Swatch for Sea Escape.

I like this quad better than the Party Purple. Maybe because of the mix of matte and sheer which I don't thin Party Purple has. I think the purple one is all SHEER. But both of them has too many fall outs. For the arm swatch, no primer was used.

VERDICT

Use your hands when applying them! And definitely use a very good PRIMER. Without primer, the color will just be .... blah!

PROS:

Color selection. There's quite a lot of colors / quads to choose from which is really good. There are 7 colors / palettes available in the market.
The tagging on where to put the color. BASE, LID, CREASE and LINE.
Texture is smooth.
Cheap. You can get it for only Php 199.75at any drugstore / department store or online

CONS:

Fall-outs. The colors are a bit chalky. There's just too many. :(
Pigmentation. Not as expected. It's very hard to make the colors pop. Primers should be used and color should be applied a lot of times.
Needs primer. A LOT OF IT and a very strong / good one!
Will not last that long. It gets faded really fast, since it's not very pigmented in the first place!

Will I buy it again? I'll buy the Brown ones for everyday use. But this one? Maybe not.

I really love how polaroids work. There's this element of SURPRISE everytime you take a picture. What I loved about it is the quality of the pictures and the fact that you can write on the borders of the photo to make it very "memorable".

It's good that they also gave a box of film (10 pcs) so I can start shooting immediately! However, the film may be very costly Php 525 per box of 10. So every shoot should be really "worth it". You wouldn't waste Php 50 for a terrible shot. Unless, money is not a problem, GO, SHOOT AS MANY FILMS AS YOU LIKE! You can even buy other frames with designs or different lenses. (See links below).

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick - 066 and 126 | Review

I got another purchase from Rimmel London and it is their Lasting Finish Lipstick in two shades: Heather Shimmer (066) and Metallic Seduction (126). Both of these colors are sheer and with a little glitter. I am not much of a fan of shimmer lippies, but since I have tried Rimmel's quality, I gave this one a try.

The two colors are both on the darker shade of brown with a metallic touch. I think 066 can be a good day-time lipstick while the 126 is more of the night-time color. Or if you want to go bold for a day look, this one can also be a good choice.

The packaging is really nice, I love the crown label on top. The colors of the lippies are quite deceiving on the package, it seems really dark but when used, it's not dark at all.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick SKIN SWATCH

It is very metallic but not very much "glittery". The problem with glittery lippies is they are very difficult to remove, the glitter STAYS even if you use make-up remover. So you really need to rub it well.

But with this one, it does not have those big sized glitters. It's almost powdered size and it removes easily with wipes. Not much of a problem. As I have told you, Rimmel makes good quality lipsticks.

What I loved about this two colors is that their mostly in the "brown" shade of colors. Though they are metallic, they are reall good in terms of pigmentation and consistency. They were very smooth to apply. The product also promises 8 hours wear with this lippies.

066 - Heather Shimmer

TIP: To make these colors pop, I first applied foundation / lip primer on my lips. Since it is mettalic, it may be difficult at first to transfer color from the stick to your lips. This happens when your lips are moist. So primer is a good trick for your lippies.

126 - Metallic Seduction

VERDICT

I love Rimmel London whether it's matte or metallic / sheer.

PROS:

Consistency. They are very smooth and easy to apply.
Pigmented on first application.
For better results you can use a lip brush and use a lip primer before applying a metallic color like these two.
I love the packaging.
No weird smell.
Affordable. It's not cheap but it's affordable. The price may range from Php 250 ~ Php 350 depending on the seller if you're here in the Philippines.(Around $ 5.50) -- Check out at ULTA for something similar to this.

CONS:

Not available here in the Philippines. You can check out some sellers like Beauty Lab for pre-order of Rimmel London lippies. (Check out my previous Review regarding Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss)
The color on the packaging is not close on the swatch. So you really need to check it out the color on an actual lip first. (Search on the internet for more reference before buying).
May not last as promised, but the color lasts long enough... 4 hours perhaps. After eating / drinking make sure you re-apply them.

As I have shared a few days ago, The Body Shop is having a SALE on All Time Favorite items for the whole month of August 2013. (See details here.) The items on sale includes the best sellers like: Lip & Cheek Tint, BB Creams, Perfumes, Body Butter, Body Mists and Hair Serums to name a few. And I just got a haul from their awesome August treat! Look what I got ;)

So from their All Time Favorites SALE, I got the Lip and Cheek Tint (~~Php 795~~ ~ Php 495), All In One BB Cream (in 01) (~~Php 1,195~~ ~ Php 795) and Grapeseed Glossing Hair Serum (~~Php 650~~ ~ Php 450). So basically, I already saved Php 900 for this loot alone! Not bad.

This is the first time that I will be trying the Grapeseed Glossing Hair Serum for my naturally curly hair. It says that it smoothens and moisturises hair which is perfect for dull and frizzy hair like mine. I have now finished my bottle of Argan Oil so I am now looking for another hair product that can be a replacement to what I am currently using. Something affordable and works well with curly locks. I guess we have to try this one and I'll give you my personal review on it.

All-In-One BB Cream

I have always been curious about The Body Shop's All-In-One BB Cream. I have seen make-up artists use this product but I haven't tried it out myself. I think that it's too expensive for a BB cream. But because of their All Time Fave SALE, I get to try one for myself. I bought one in shade 01 as tested by the sales lady.

This is a liquid cream that comes out WHITE but turns into a Skin-Tone color as you apply it unto your skin. It says that it is "color-adapting". It is available in 2 shades. I can't wait to make a review for this product since it promises to give you a heavier coverage than the other BB creams available from The Body Shop.

The very popular Lip and Cheek Tint and personally, my All-Time-Favorite :) I have been using one of these ever since highschool and college! And wow does this product last long! I still have mine on hand but I can't skip a SALE without buying this one! Originally costing Php 795 which is a bit much for me but I know that it's worth it! So I wait for a SALE (like this month's) and buy some extra stock. ;) It pays to be wise sometimes! I got this for Php 495 only! Grab yours now before they go out-of-stock!

Well, apart from the SALE items that I bought, I got two extra items that I really wanted to have! The Eye Mask (Gel) (Php 350) and the Vitamins C Face Mist (Php 750).

It has vitamin C and it is used as a spray over your face to relieve "STRESS". Yes, you read it right! The content of this mist causes you to relax and feel very rejuvenated. Works well during a stressful day at work or before you put your make-up in the morning or before bed at night. Basically, it's an all day product and works well with ANYBODY! ;)

Though these items were not for sale, I still bought them because I really wanted to have them. Well, I got freebies because of my loot! Yay!

We had passes because we got invited to get a slot for this Expo however we weren't able to reserve for one because we're really not planning to. Just yet. But then again, I went with two of my closest friends, Bam and Kay.

Cakes

Now my favorite part! CAKES! The best thing about this is that you can get to taste their cakes. And I tasted all the Red Velvet Cakes available... And I only liked ONE. :( Here's a sample of cakes that I personally loved.

Aren't they just... YUMMY!!! :) Though only a few gives free samples of Red Velvets and some were not so good. Just make sure you taste them first before you order. Then you tell them if you would prefer to cut it for your guests or have separate mini-cakes for your primary sponsors and guests. The cakes would cost you Php 10k above for 3 level cakes with edible base. ;)

NYX SM Aura

Last May 2013, SM Aura opened at Taguig City, Philippines. And our awaited make-up store also had their portion of this awesome opening! Good news, NYX SM Aura is already available for those who live far from SM Nort Edsa (where a NYX Store is available).

I visited SM Aura the other day to buy stuff for my mom because she loved the NYX Eyebrow Marker. We asked the Concierge for the NYX Store, but it just so happened that there is NO NYX STORE available inside... Only a KIOSK at the SM Department Store. A Kiosk is better than NONE at all!
